Daughter: Zoie (aged 4) – Foundation level
RWI by Oxford has given my child the confidence to speak English. When we went to Japan recently, it was such a surprise to watch her enthusiastically imitate us and speak to the people there in English. She was even able to pronounce unfamiliar words!
Moreover, RWI by Oxford is much more than a language programme. It has actually stimulated my daughter’s interest in learning English. In fact, now she reminds her grandfather to take her to class. She is able to communicate in complete English sentences and phrases with us, and even corrects our pronunciation!

Son: Jack Andrew (aged 6) – Foundation level
RWI by Oxford has driven my son’s enthusiasm in attempting to read new texts. When he reads English storybooks, he recognizes the pronunciation of the new vocabularies with the phonics he learned. The programme is full of fun and it enhances children’s ability in reading, writing, listening and speaking. Their strengths in self-learning and self-aided reading have been improved as well. In particular, the blending skill taught during lessons has inspired his curiosity in reading English. He said: ‘It’s surprising! The pronunciations and spellings of many English words are similar, but their meanings are totally different.’ Now reading and writing English new words has become a pleasure for him.
I find it trustworthy as all tutors for RWI by Oxford are well trained by experts from the UK. |

Cyrus Chu( aged 6) – Upper-advanced level |

Clovis Chu (aged 4) – Foundation level |
I appreciate the teaching materials of RWI by Oxford. All the teaching materials and student’s textbooks are introduced from the UK, which are designed in a comprehensive and seamless manner. They help strengthen my sons’ English ability and prepare them for their studies in the future.
Cyrus, my elder son, now reads storybooks much faster and has great improvements in the comprehension of articles. He used to read a book in an hour, now he can finish reading 2 to 3 English storybooks of similar level in an hour. Therefore, I let Clovis learn phonics from 4 so as to build a better foundation in English. Like Cyrus, he finds reading storybooks interesting. Although they may not understand everything in the stories, they are confident in attempting to read them aloud. Clovis has shown a lot of improvements in spelling and pronouncing new words and is no longer afraid of difficult English vocabularies.
A worth mentioning point is the design of the programme. It incorporates the use of English grammar and allows children to master English in a natural way, which in turn has fostered their interests in learning and reading English. This helps ease children’s pressure in learning English and their parents can be rest assured.

In my opinion, the utmost advantage of RWI by Oxford is the teaching of blending skills which helps reinforce the students’ language foundation. Building a solid foundation will help motivate students to learn English.
We have taught our P1 students RWI by Oxford for three months. Their improvements in spelling and reading are noticeable. Having learned the first group of pure sounds, most students possess a positive attitude and have built confidence in learning English. Furthermore, they have developed the initiative and confidence in recognizing the pronunciation of unfamiliar words.。 |

Last year, our school started using RWI by Oxford in our Primary 1 classes. After a year, it has become very clear how much the programme has helped improve our students’ English ability. From learning pure sounds and reading words, to storybook comprehension and writing short sentences, the students have shown great interest and initiative, and their language ability improved by leaps and bounds.
Moreover, this course has helped our students build a solid foundation in English. They can now use their blending skills whenever they read new books and put into practice what they have learned. |
